Koinobori

Tokyo Midtown Koinobori Festival

Koinobori, carp-shaped windsocks, are made every year to celebrate the Japanese holiday of Children’s Day. My koinobori resembles a dragon flying in the sky, as the year 2024 is the year of the dragon. The illustrations were inspired by the Ainu people, indigenous people of Hokkaido, Japan.

子供の成長を願うをテーマに、港区で開催される東京ミッドタウン鯉のぼりフェスティバル。このデザインに描かれたイラストは、２０２４年の辰年と、北海道に住む先住民であるアイヌ民族の織物からインスピレーションを得たものです。日本の伝統と文化を際立たせたいという思いから、このデザインを制作しました。
